Overview:
This project will show you how to mount a TV on a wall. In rooms where there's no room for an entertainment center, get your television set up and out of the way by mounting it to your wall.
Materials: Your choice of TV mount kits (available at your local hardware/electronics store or online), may require additional drywall anchors. Tools You'll Need: 6-in-1 interchangeable screwdriver, power-lite cordless drill, 4-in-1 level, 10ft. or 25ft. tape measure
Barbara's Tips:
Use double-sided, pressure-sensitive tape or plastic, pressure-mounted feet to keep your components from sliding off the mount.

Step 1: Where to Watch
Test your sight lines. Be sure to mount the TV in a place where you can see it comfortably from your chair or couch. If you're mounting to the ceiling, make sure that you leave enough room for the mount to fully swivel. For older sets or VCRs: if you don't have a remote control, make sure you can reach the controls on your set without having to drag over a ladder each time you want to use it. Step 2: Where to Drill
Find the center of the stud (or ceiling joist) nearest your intended mounting position. Electronic stud finders are designed for this purpose: use one if possible. Step 3: Some Assembly Required
Open your mounting kit. Read all instructions thoroughly. Remove the bracket, and using the mounting holes as guides, mark your intended drilling holes and use your level to set the bracket. Drill, and then secure the bracket. Assemble the mounting kit. Attach it to the bracket, and - using a helper if you have a 20" or larger set - mount your TV/VCR. Organize your cabling. Use surface-mounted raceways to keep things neat. Step 4: Showtime
Sit back in your newly spacious living room with your favorite show. You did it yourself!
