How to Hang a Wreath on a Metal Door Recommended Skill Level:

Overview:

This project will show you how to hang a wreath on a metal door. A wreath hanging on a front door adds character to a home.

Materials:

picture hooks, hanging wire

Tools You'll Need:

10ft. or 25ft. tape measure, 7oz. or 16oz. hammer

Barbara's Tips:

Wreaths can be changed seasonally to reflect the changing seasons.

  Step 1: Mark the Territory
Measure the width of the door and divide by two. This is the center of the door. Mark this spot with a pencil.

Step 2: Balancing Act
Attach a 2 ft. piece of hanging wire to the back of the wreath, making sure to hold the wreath up from the wire to see how it will hang.

Step 3: Reach for the Top
Climb onto your step stool, with tape measure ready. Holding the wreath by the wire, place it onto the door in the desired height, making sure to align the wreath with your center mark. Bring the attached wires over the top of the door and tape to the top edge of the door.

Step 4: Tying Up Loose Ends
To further secure heavy wreaths, tie the two wires together and trim the loose ends.
