How to Hang a Wreath on a Wood Door Recommended Skill Level:

Overview:

This project will show you how to hang a wreath on a wood door. A wreath hanging on a front door adds character to a home.

Materials:

picture hooks, hanging wire, tape

Tools You'll Need:

10ft. or 25ft. tape measure, 7oz. or 16oz. hammer

Barbara's Tips:

Wreaths can be changed seasonally to reflect the changing seasons.

  Step 1: Location is Everything
Hold the wreath up to the door to determine the desirable location. Usually, the center of the door and approximately six feet from the floor is a good spot.

Step 2: Basic Math
Measure the width of the door and divide by two. This is the center of the door. Mark this spot with a pencil.

Step 3: Measure Up
Next, measure up from the bottom of the door to the desired height. Mark this spot with a pencil.

Step 4: X Marks the Spot
The point where these two marks intersect is the point where you will drive the nail for hanging the wreath. Using a hammer, secure the nail and hook into the door.

Step 5: Get Wired
Using hanging wire, create a loop on the back of the wreath. Finally, hang this loop over the hook on your door.
